I am replacing the timing belt on my 92 960 with 150k miles on it.
the lower rear cover was cracked , and broke in half. I ordered a new one from the dealer for $60. It seems that I will have to remove at least one cam sprocket. I do not have a cam holder. Can I just wedge a wooden dowel rod to hold the cam from moving? I plan on match marking the sprocket to the shaft and keeping the timing mark location. Is there any other things to worry about? I also replaced the water pump because I had no record of when it was replaced. Thanks.

Which engine is fitted? Different engines require different approaches.

Thanks for the reply. It has a B6304 engine,I did not know there was other engine options. Any way I removed the cam sprockets by wedging channel locks in the sprocket slots. The 3 bolts holding the sprocket on to the shaft are not on real tight. Thanks again!
