Mishimoto vs. IPD Coolant Hoses

Post by 99TurboBrick »

Hello,

I wanted to get folks’ feedback and also share my experience comparing Mishimoto to IPD coolant hoses.

I wasn’t sure which I’d like better, so I bought a pair of each. These are the upper/lower radiator hoses.

Observations:

1. I like the darker blue pigment of the Mishimoto.
2. The Mishimoto has 3 layers of fabric, IPD has 4 layers.
3. The curve on the Mishimoto is not as clean, as there is a bit of a wrinkle.
4. The Mishimoto is just a bit uneven in thickness around the diameter.

Cost:
IPD $136
Mishimoto $100

Given all that, I’ve decided to go with IPD, even though I do like the color of the Mishimoto better, and the cool logos. :D

If my analysis seems picky, I'll blame it on this video by Viper Performance, entitled "Viper Silicone Hoses VS Cheap Quality Hoses".

My guess would be either would likely perform fine for my basic use.
