P2 S60 Rear Headrests. Interesting, solved.

Post by DonnVa »

Hi everyone,

I’ve been lurking, reading, researching and really haven’t added much. I’ve owned 3 Volvos over the last 30+ years. A 164E, 850 and now this 07 S60 since last July. Don’t mind working on them and such. So, it had been bugging me that I couldn’t get my rear headrests to flip down. I thought I checked everything. Well this morning, I took the rear seats out (cleaned that area :o ) checked the connections and fuses. All good. I pulled the front panel thinking it’s got to be the switch or switches as my valet button didn’t work. It all looked good. Well I pulled the blank plug and two pins on the top row mid way down were touching, one into the other. Hmm, straightened them. No go. I looked further down the row of blank male connectors and another set second from last were bent the same way. Straightened them and now my headrests fold down and valet function works. Just figured I’d say something because I looked at all that stuff when I put in a stereo last August, just didn’t look hard enough.

Have a great day!
Donn

Sure... The plug behind the blank switch and another plug to the right. Top row of pins counting from left to right pin 4 was bent into pin 3 on two of those male connectors. Thing is, those were never in use, but it is a three owner car.
