1994 volvo 850 turbo vacuum routing

Post by JoeHester »

Almost finished refurbishing my 94 turbo (pcv, turbo vacuum lines, etc) and I either made a mistake somewhere or am just not understanding the next step. So from what I can gather from other forums about the vacuum hose in question (top rear nipple of vacuum tree>metal loop under spark plugs cover) is supposed to go to the ptc valve. However, the ptc valve is already occupied by the two hoses in the rubber sleeve that goes under the manifold. Any ideas on what I'm missing here? Thank you and sorry for the wall of text

The PTC isn’t a valve , it’s just an orfice. It attaches to a fat hose that runs to the canister hanging below cylinder 1 and 2

Your 94 will have a few other vacuum lines that this 98 doesn't have, but this thread should solve most of your questions: viewtopic.php?t=63615

Also your car has w white sticker under the hood showing all the vacuum lines.

Okay I think I got it figured out now I bypassed the metal loop under the spark plugs cover by routing my vacuum tree to my ptc and fuel pressure regulator

Bumping this as I am doing the breather on my 94, and it has a few different connections VS. my 97 turbo. Can anyone let me know where the second line that goes to the top of the ptc goes? Thanks.
