Hi Guys
I want to replace the valve stem seals on my 2.4 Engine. And by the way also the Lifters if they.'re worn. Is it necessary to adjust the intake vvt (have only on intake cam vvt) when i dont remove the sprocket from the camshaft. Or is it possible to make a mark and install the camshaft and do the allignment with the markings for timing belt installation?

I can't answer your question as I've never replaced valve stem seals in my 2001 2.3l, but owning a 2001 model, if the camshaft seals (front and rear) haven't been changed, now is the time to do both. This means, you would have to remove the sprocket from the camshaft.
Good luck with your repair.
