93 740 GL wagon manual VALUE

I think this is a GL. It has 276,282 miles. 1993 Volvo 740 manual. I thought they were discontinued in 92? I want to get an approx value from a bunch of you to get an idea of how much I should be paying. The owner seems to be younger about my age (25ish). Uses it as a drifter around town. I asked about timing belt, ac, and brakes. He was sure about it needing timing belt kit. He refused to answer about the AC and brakes. He told me to make an offer. I said $2100. He was steadfast at $4000. I said $2700. He said its too good to sell that cheap. This all took place...June 14 over text message. He just texted me a few min ago and said he is broke and desperate for money; he told me he was considering $3000. I asked him if we could bargain further. He said no. Values please? Pics below...

Assume it needs AC and brake work. For sure a front side lens and rear lens. Headlights need heavy polishing. Clear coat is coming off. Looks like owned by a smoker - check for seat burn damage. Asking price seems high. Hold out for your lower offer.
