2006 V70R auto
Hello , so I replaced the PCV system today. Started the car and it runs, but with idle pulsing 1000-1100. Sorry if this exist already I’ve been searching all day and can’t find any new material plus I’m freaking out and don’t know if I can freak back in…
Ecm 9200 TP sensor faulty signal
Ecm 921c Throttle unit potentiometer 1 signal too high
ECM 922C throttle unit potentiometer 2 signal too high
ECM 92CC throttle unit signal too high
Fault codes all point to TB with codes
as above - suspiciously all signal to high.
Would not disconnecting the battery whilst disconnecting/reconnecting the ETM mean I have to ‘adapt the TB’ thru Vida(which I don’t have).
When I unplug the TB same codes with the addition of ECM-922D potentiometer 2 signal too low.
I cleaned the throttle body when it was out - did I kill it ?
I can’t seem to remove the ecu to check continuity to the plug - how do you remove it?
This is my DD , so next call is to flat bed to the dealership and cope with a loan car.
I live in a part of the world where there is no junk yards with these things in to try parts and everything takes 3 weeks to be shipped.
Any thoughts or suggestions gratefully received.
TIA

If you let solvent get into the works of the electronic throttle assembly you might have killed it.
Luckily it’s a plug and play replace,ETM on a P2 chassis with the Bosch unit.

First time I did the PCV service on my 2002 V70, I had almost identical symptoms. Turns out I was a fit ham fisted when I reinstalled the cleaned out TCM. I had bent a pin and the throttle module was not communicating properly. I thought I was really s####ed but after straightening the pins all was fine.
I guess it is unlikely that you are as clumsy, but perhaps worth a look.
Good luck.

Thanks Abscate and ljosmmar1 for your thoughts.
Gold star on ljsommar1’s fridge - wire had broken inside etm plug - found doing continuity tests from ecm to etm plug.
It helped to sleep on it after a day of panic involving making the issue more than it was ,removing manifold several times to check hunches that didn’t pan out and, not thinking methodically.

My former 98 S70 T5 had an intermittent no start for half the period I owned it. Had installed a wire with a clip from the battery so I could manually touch the starter when this happened. Turns out it was a pinched wire under the dash. The alarm system under the dash was torn apart by the tow yard when they couldn't get the hood open due to the typical latch issue on one side. You can see the dent mark on the hood from the pry bar. This was before my ownership.Stu70 wrote: ↑17 Jul 2021, 18:56 Thanks Abscate and ljosmmar1 for your thoughts.

I’ll find the Volvo Horns and award them later today for this post.ljsommar1 wrote: ↑17 Jul 2021, 12:35 First time I did the PCV service on my 2002 V70, I had almost identical symptoms.
