Just take the timing belt job slow and steady, one step at a time, and you'll be fine. But first, read the procedure at least half a dozen times. Take notes if you have to. That's what I do.FireFox31 wrote: ↑18 Aug 2021, 21:01How do you car gurus know all the exacting information required to do this kind of work and have access to all of these interesting parts (old S60R engine) and tools? I'm fighting to overcome nerves to change my timing belt and you are rebuilding multiple Frankenstein engines. I'm amazed.Nevada1906 wrote: ↑18 Aug 2021, 19:44 While I'm reassembling the B5254T so I can actually use it in the car, I'm also building up the short block for the B5234T.
As far as the knowledge base, just start with one single piece of information and branch out from there. Add pieces of knowledge by working backward, working forward and working sideways. It really is like a puzzle, and you have to start somewhere. Doesn't matter where, just pick a point.
Remember, the hardest part of any project is wanting to do it.
