Thermostat location

Thermostat location

Hello to all.
1996 850 with a 2.5 5 cylinder D5252T engine.
Went to change the thermostat today, followed rad top hose expecting to find the housing, but no!
All of the vids and info on the net are for different engine so please can someone here please advise?

We don’t get the diesels here in the US so one of our UK/EU members will have help after Liverpool disposes of the Man City Wankers

I dont have first hand experience with the TDIs but it seems to be at the bottom of the engine
