"Car cane" for a '96 850?

Does anyone here have experience with a car cane? They go by various names, and, for a person in the proper situation, they're supposed to be great.

Unfortunately, the part I tried is too big for the 13.29 mm by 21.71 mm hole in a '96 850 front door latch.

Has anyone here found something like this that does work on an 850?
