S60 CEM Bench setup for Racing rig

Post by zenoms »

I have a very unusual question. I built a mix of V70 2004, S60 2009 and 2006 S60R cluster to play video game on a PC.
The cluster is connected to an Arduino board with a canbus shield that has a code written by a very talented guy I found on YouTube and it is working like a charm.

My problem is that I really want to have the radio, climate control and light switch module with the lights on. But as I found out to get the lights on, the CEM needs to tell them to be on. I just need the CEM to connect to the LSM and tell the radio and climate the lights are on, like with the key on accessory on.

I have the 2004 P2 CEM here, I tried to connect it, I get the LSM on, the dimmer works, but the radio and climate won't. I have an extra cluster from the same 2004 V70 but when I connect everything it doesn't come on.

Can someone help me what wires I have to connect to "fool" the CEM that the key is turned to "accessory on" to get the lights on? I don't mind having to keep the CEM to fool the rest of the dashboard.

Or.... if someone has the knowledge in arduino, I can connect another arduino with a canbus shield to the radio and climate control and send the can ID to keep the lights on. I think it can work either way.

There are major difference between the 1999 - 2004 P2 electrical system and 2005 - 2016 P2. The P2s when to a completely different system in 2005 ... including the CAN protocols 1999 - 2004 is D2 protocol. 2005+ is GGD protocol. If that dash, electronics and wiring is 2004. Stick with hardware from a 1999 - 2004. S60 or S80.

Ignition switch symbols ( 3/1 ) .
30 = Constant power from the battery to switch

Switched side of Ignition switch.
S = Powered upon insertion of key. ( POS 0 )
X = Accessories. ( POS I )
15 = Run The switch remains connected during start. ( POS II )
15l = Contact is broken while starting. ( POS II )
50 = Start. ( POS III )

12V to Pins B:1, B:2 and B:3 on the CEM should simulate key in POS II.
Easier, wire the harness that went to the Ignition switch using the matrix in the first image. Connect everything except for 50 together.
