2006 V70 non-turbo p0171

Post by RNByrd3 »

Hi all, I have a lean code that is driving me nuts on my 2006 Volvo V70 non-turbo. I have a Foxwell scanner that is BMW/Mini specific, so I only get generic codes for my Volvo. I’m getting p0171 lean bank 1.
I replaced the PCV system, upstream O2 sensor, and cleaned MAF and throttle body. I was initially getting very high fuel trims and thought I had a leak. I smoked it and couldn’t find a leak. I broke down and took it to a local independent Volvo specialist and they were unable to locate the exact issue. They smoked the engine and found no leak. They reset things and said that it may just be that the system needed a reset. The CEL stayed off for 3 days, and is now back on as of tonight (Sunday). My trims seem fine now, whereas before I brought it to the shop, they were very high.
At the time of the most recent CEL illumination, I was at 2011 RPM, MAF was 12.32 g/s and MAP shows 42 kPa. Short term fuel trim was 3.1% and long term fuel trim was 7%. 55psi to the fuel rail. Could this be my MAP sensor? I hate to keep throwing money at this code, as I already put in a new 02 sensor that I’m not sure I needed. Can you please give me your thoughts on the next step(s). Thank you in advance!
