found this bad boy sitting in pick n pull, wondering if the turbo would fit in my base model wagon, and what i would need to remove to complete the full turbo setup for some cheap power or if i should just take the whole engine since mine has an unknown amount of kms well over 500,000.

I saw that one too. At least you may get an idea of the mileage on the engine assuming the milometer was still running before being scrapped. Problem with PnP engines is you have no idea if they are there because the engine went bad. Better to get the engine from one you can hear running.
If you have time and money on your hands go for it but you have only a 30 day return for in store credit.
Again, swapping the turbo onto yours is not normally recommended as NA engines usually run higher compression. I'll leave that for those who may have tried this in the past.
Good Luck!
Neil.

I remember reading that "swapping a turbo on to a NA is not a job for mere mortals."
What you should do is take those sweet Columba wheels. Maybe it's the filth on the car or maybe they're the rare anthracite grey ones. What do junkyards do with the wheels they take off the cars?

Yards seem to like the fast, easy money of selling wheels for aluminum scrap. No worries about damage and no waiting for a buyer.

judging by the rest of the car i can only assume they're dirty, i already have a set of those from bucks that i got with summers for 196 for a set, pick n pull says they don't take the wheels off the cars but i never see them on the cars once they've been all set up. just looking for some cheap power and something to do after school. might go look at a v70 i saw at bucks and try to sneak the turbo parts out (if it's turbo, there's not much details on bucks)FireFox31 wrote: ↑20 Jan 2022, 11:12 I remember reading that "swapping a turbo on to a NA is not a job for mere mortals."

Forget putting a turbo on your na. It’s a project for someone that can really swing a spanner. Easier and probably much cheaper to buy a turbo car and take it from there. Just my 2c.

The engine and turbo are useless to your NA car.

Stick a turbo on a NA ... are you in a hurry to get to the Kingdom of Heaven, Satan's domain or the Poor house?SirBrickWagon wrote: ↑20 Jan 2022, 10:11 found this bad boy sitting in pick n pull, wondering if the turbo would fit in my base model wagon, and what i would need to remove to complete the full turbo setup for some cheap power or if i should just take the whole engine since mine has an unknown amount of kms well over 500,000.
Keep your eyes peeled for Volvo 960s and 1997 - 1998 S90s & V90s. You can do the 960 TB mod on your 850 for some extra kick.

This mod was so common back in the day, good to see it written up somewhere.
