2013 S60. History of the problem: Dash info said that the driver's door was open, thus you could not lock the car. Spoke to Volvo dealer..they wanted $205 to do a diagnostic...They would put that cost to the repair if I chose to do one....otherwise, $205 to find out what they thought. Published the problem here and elsewhere, and as result, I replaced the door actuator myself ($100 part via FCP). Solved the problem...THEN...after two weeks, the door indicator is ON again...same symptoms.
Was it a bad part? Did the part fail due to some other issue? What the heck is going on? I may have to go to Volvo (unless there is someone close to my home - Long Island, NY) that has a diagnostic tool.
Any thoughts? What would YOU do?
Door lock...again????

My approach: I would run diagnostics with my VIDA DiCE toolset before throwing parts at her... This could be anything from a failing switch/contact to a pinched wire to a failing Door Control Module. However, the stealership's prices are outrageous and hard to justify; I sincerely hope someone close by could help you find the point of failure...
(I wouldn't mind flying over to NY but 100LL aviation gasoline ain't cheap
)
As a last resort you could look for a nearby indie shop that has the toolset PLUS reasonable pricing

Example of Precision: Measure with a Micrometer, mark it with Chalk, and then cut it with an Axe.
