The hood is pretty good for its age. There are four rust spots about the size of a quarter. They grew very slowly in size over the decades. I recall it having no significant dents or scratches beyond those. I did bump a snow bank and nudge the hood slightly out of alignment, but maybe that could be resolved by keeping your hinges. Here's a picture from 18 months ago, dirty after sitting outside for a year.

If you're along 84 or 95 in CT, I could bring it to you in early April. That is, if it's still available and you're interested.

I’ll snap some pix of the trouble spots. Needs a buffing , too. It doesn’t have the Rich metallic depth of my T5 but then it doesn’t have Caitlin age6 snow shovel scratch marks either.

Hey Firefox,
Thanks for all the info on the hood. I think I will pass on that since I am not keen on dealing with rust issues. Mine is not really that bad, but it has serious clear coat oxidation. One of these days I will try to wet sand and then polish.

But, I would be interested in both front doors if they are in near perfect condition. Mine have door dings all over the place and the passenger door actually has a good size dent in it. Is the driver mirror heating pad working? I would be interested in that as well since mine is dead.

Thanks, Dirk

I may just have to take a drive up to the frozen north to inspect things.

I don't recall ever being bothered by the condition of the front doors, and I'm easily bothered by details. The front right door outside handle has a hard time pulling to open the door; have to do it just right. Swap in your hardware and it will be fine. I believe the heated mirrors work and never noticed if they didn't. I can bring these to you in early April (if I can fit two front seats AND two front doors in my wagon coming home from abscate's place).

I know the door cards are flopping around all over from failed glue. I'm interested in the left front and rear door cards to reupholster the arm rests, keeping mine as original.

That's a really nice offer, thank you. But maybe we should meet at Mr. Abscate so I can take a peek. I would hate for you to make the drive down here and then I am not happy with the condition of the doors. Plus, it sounds like too much of a load for you. I will bring my V70 and make it easy.
