Re: P80 V70 side marker light
That part inside the fender is a purge solenoid, I just pulled that piece off of my cousin's '98 V70. I had never seen one in the fender like that before! Your car wouldn't be pre-wired for the side markers, you'll need to run the wires back for it. Just splice it into the harness for the front turn...

Re: P80 V70 side marker light
When I put the XC70 nose on my '97 850, I installed the side repeaters.

I had to splice in at the wiring at the front corner lights.
If I recall correctly, your wire colors are correct.

Re: Getting Volvo key cut, plus FOB concern
From my experience, you will need a new factory key fob and a Volvo dealer needs to program it. I don't know anyone who has successfully programmed a previously used key fob onto another vehicle. My 2000 V70R has the chip embedded into the key and I purchased a flip-blade key fob on eBay where I tra...

Re: Getting Volvo key cut, plus FOB concern
The dealer in Tulsa knew that it didn't have a chip but yet he would have to charge me twice the price because they would have to *download software onto the key*. I had a independent locksmith cut keys for my '97 S90 & '98 C70. It cost me $30.00 per key. I supplied the blanks. . By "downl...

Re: 98 XC BAD fuel mileage, need help
Your car is not rated 17/26 mpg that is for a front wheel drive 2.4L equipped car. Here are some screenshots of the EPA gas mileage for the 2.4 FWD which is not your car and the 2.3 and 2.4 AWD of which one is your car. I owned a new 98 V70 XC 2.3L and it was no gas miser. That was never the point o...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Well, I have learned something today. I did not know about solder sleeves. I think I need to upgrade from crimp connectors, which are prone to corrosion.

Re: 98 S/V70/V70 XC Lots of cheap parts, Antlers Oklahoma
Not on your list but I'll give it a shot: front right turn signal light, with all mounting clips intact?
Nice looking roof cross bars there!

Re: S60 side airbag layout, need help ASAP
It is so far from that easy. The main sensor and decisions are in the control module in the center console by parking brake handle on P2 models that have this feature. The module needs CAN communication from CEM. The harness plug in your car will not fit on the one for the system that runs curtains,...

Re: Need pics and advice of 17" s80 wheels on 1998 S70/v70
I am running 17" rims on my 2000 V70R AWD. Tires can be either 215/45/17 as you mention, but I am using 225/45/17 on my car. The issue you have to watch on the AWD models is the offset. I have a set of THOR wheels for winters and I can't recall what the summers are on but there are 2 that are v...
