Re: WIP: Heads up display for P80

Reviving this with the first progress in a long while. Decided to switch to a lumisil IS31FL3239 as they are in stock. Also dumbed it down a bit and may try to code this in the arduino IDE to ease my way into it. Later iterations will be coded in AVR but for now i want to do this one step at a time ...

Re: Transmission codes

hausmeister wrote: 24 Aug 2022, 15:02 Problem seems solved. New used TCU solved it.
This is the second time i know of that a TCU replacement cleared transmission codes. I had it happen on a 98 s70 before which presented with the flashing arrow of death. Glad its resolved!

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

bmdubya1158 I'm gonna try the ignition check later today- I didn't know that the ECU would have any affect on the starter. yeah it's perplexing as it was a very sudden occurrence. i'll post my findings as they occur! I may be a little late to the party but did you try jumping the starter solenoid o...

Re: Jammed tailgate latch on '98 V70 NA, partially works

I swapped my latch a few weeks back off a 99 or 2000 v70 into my new 98 v70. All I had to do was ensure the lock indicator was mounted correctly. Was a 15 minute job if I recall. Grab an old one from a yard may be a more long term solution. I had a previous issue where my latch would self lock when ...

Re: Gloves

I usually use nitrile gloves (cannot confirm nor deny they were company supplied) and change them to minimize cross contamination of my tools and other areas of the engine. I would say its better not to let the stuff sit on your hands but periodic exposure will not do noticeable damage. My mechanic ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Water pump shaft looks well bent. It may be one of the pumps where the shaft has come loose from the impeller or the bearing have failed. I think that may well be the reason for the failure. Bmdubya's advice is worth considering. Pistons don't often get damaged but vales to get damaged as Abscate c...

P2 Pre-purchase checklist

Hi Everyone, May be joining this era of the forum soon and have had my eyes on a few s60's as my 98 v70 bit the bullet recently. I have a foxwell code scanner and probably will not be able to set up a dice in time for the purchase. At this time i am looking at a car from my mechanic (trusted friend)...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

My repaste with rtv of the sunroof a few days ago was worthless. Last eve and this morning, I worked on the sunroof seal on the donor car. I used N_D's step-by-step here https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=70515&hilit=sunroof+repair. I accidentally installed seal back to fr...

Re: I think I’m gonna buy this… unless you guys strongly disapprove

She said she’d get back to me in a day or so but I’m going to just move on unless I hear from her soon with news that everything is cool. Which would be great, but yeah, it did seem too good to be true which is why I kept asking more questions, which now I’m glad I did, because before the last set ...

Re: BCM, CEM, SUM, Multiple DTC's, and Dash Lights S60 R

Got a bit bored today and checked the wiring diagrams. See Attached: Screenshot 2023-04-08 225046.png HIGH SPEED Screenshot 2023-04-08 224657.png LOW SPEED Screenshot 2023-04-08 224854.png I think the CEM will have to come out. Your issue is errors across the high speed CAN network. (label at top of...
