If its AWD get it on some snow or wet grass and check to see if it works, this can be an expensive repair and time consuming. Make sure it hasn't had the bevel gear and or propshaft removed, I've seen a few cars where the do this.

Re: URGENT wheel bearing bolt gone in middle of nowhere
When I bought my V70R in 2017, I has to replace the bolt because it was missing on one of the front wheels. i must have driven 400 to 500 miles before I noticed. I saw no ill effects.

I cannot tell you its ok to drive like this, the inner CV joint is retained by a circlip so it will not come out of the transmission. If I had to move a vehicle that's missing the bolt on the outside of the CV shaft I would certainly minimize turn radius', particularly at speed. I would probably do ...

It's all back together now and I drove my V70 to work today for the first time since my daughters accident. It looks a little funny with the mismatched front bumper, but it will get painted hopefully soon. Feels good driving that car again, plus it releases our 240 from daily duty :D .
