Re: This V70_GLT a good buy?
It sounds like a pretty good deal, but there are a few questions you should ask, items you should check. When was the timing belt and water pump replaced, condition of tranny fluid, how old is the brake fluid, what is the status of the ETM, etc. Also, in my experience even well maintained examples d...

Re: This V70_GLT a good buy?
Keep in mind the 99 owners club is a small and very ragtag bunch, basically ostracized by the rest of the more humble and sensible P80 owners.
Otherwise, go for it. The low-use years shouldn't matter, I'd change the oil right away though it's going to be very wet.

Re: Replacing All Engine Mounts What Order Would You Do?
Don't bother with the poly inserts.
As someone who's used them a couple of times, just do the Delrin ones if you're doing them at all.

Re: Replacing All Engine Mounts What Order Would You Do?
Watch out for the rear mount. There is a tab on it that has to be located in a hole on the bracket. Be careful also jacking the engine too high as you can damage the drive axles. Volvo does have a max. height you can jack the engine, but I can't recall what it is now. Just be very careful and watch ...

Re: Replacing All Engine Mounts What Order Would You Do?
It’s one Imperial inch for that height limit
Raise engine:
Raise engine max 30 mm. Use jack tool No. 998 5972, or equivalent.
Remove two engine mount bolts and slacken the third bolt.
WARNING: The inner, left constant velocity joint will be damaged if the engine is raised by more than 30 mm .

Re: Replacing All Engine Mounts What Order Would You Do?
When I did mine, I raised the engine just enough to make me have to use some muscle to wiggle that mount in. I felt that was a safe approach. I believe I had the one closest to the radiator installed first, but left it loose so the engine could pivot a little to do that back one. Then did the one by...

Re: Replacing All Engine Mounts What Order Would You Do?
One of my 14mm top bolts going into the block on the side pad mount was so rusted that I twisted the head off and I am in the process of using an Easy Out/ Bolt extractor. I was able to remove the other 14mm bolt and the the two 17mm that into the subframe but man... it wasn't easy. I just moved fr...

Re: Broken bolt head leads to Broken Extractor Bit
Hi ericmci, can you try and post a picture? I can't quite recall what this all looks like so pictures will help me to be able to advise. I think I understand what you are asking but it has been 3 years since I did this job last on a FWD P80.

Re: Broken bolt head leads to Broken Extractor Bit
There is some sort of copper alloy in the engine mount which seizes and grips those bolts like the Devil. I threw my ezouts into a lake years ago, after the last of many snapped off hardened steel extractors in problem bolts. I’ll find and post the diagram of the mount you need to remove, I’m pretty...
