Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Dash all done and reinstalled. Went really smoothly, but I did have issues with, of all things, the glove box liner. Dumb dumb idea to have the wire loop for the latch behind the lip of the liner. You have to put undo stress on the dash either pulling the liner out or putting it in. Could have been ...

Re: Any tricks to aid windshield replacement?
Why not just take it to a professional ? After all they do windshields all day long, have all the proper tools for the job and the right sealants, and they will guarantee their work. Some things just aren't worth fooling around with, imho.

Re: What non automotive projects and repairs are you doing?
^ A note of caution; Typically you leave a little bit of space between the ends of the siding boards, and there is differences of opinions as to whether that joint should be caulked. If its caulked tight, then when the boards expand, the caulk is pushed out of the joint and shows every vertical join...

Re: Quick battery question
Well a few minutes of googling, and it appears I have been wrong. I guess that unless it's a weak battery, the alternator should bring it back regardless.

Re: Timing Belts, Luxury and Tears...

Re: Perfectly good parts removed: What do you do with them?
Well I keep all of my " good " used parts in Tupperware containers stashed in the corner of my garage. Having restored many other older cars & trucks, I can't toss anything that might just make the difference, if the parts become hard to find in the future.

Re: The beginning of the revival: weight training in the gym
We sometimes tend to baby our cars and forget about our main mode of transportation. Your health is everything. Drop all sodas, chips, fried food etc. Eat organic as much as possible, particularly things like milk, potatoes and meat. I tend to eat very little red meat, opting for fish, chicken and v...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Well the wiper arm replacement went pretty well. As expected, the wiper pattern is a little different than stock, but not wildly. I went with Bosch 24" on the drivers side, and 26" on the passenger side. The pic with the blue tape shows the difference between the stock ( sharpy mark ) and ...

Plug color
I decided to look at my plugs today - this is what I found. Not sure about this color......I'm used to white or black typically. I'd think major head gasket leak, but fresh engine and no signs of coolant issues ( exhaust vapor/smell, drop in coolant level ) so I'm at a loss. IMG_20220529_123829690.j...
