Check for a crank sensor code and it might be the starter causing interference on that particular sensor wire. My bad starter caused all sorts of weird codes and I did get a start prevented once.

Quality rebuilt all the way. Detroit axle or united power steering are good options. I paid about $300 CAD total last year for mine after I returned the core. There are rebuilders in Toronto that may or may not offer decent pricing. Just be certain you get the right one. Variable or non variable ass...

Not a bad job once you do it. Drain coolant, remove upper rad hose. Remove rad fan and it gives you a lot of room. Swing PS pump out of the way with reservoir attached, loosen lower ac compressor bolts and it gives you enough room to fit it out.

Nicely done. I actually used my hitch today. Rented a u haul trailer for $25 and did a dump/scrap metal run. Trailer weight about 1200lb and load was about 750lb. pulled just fine. My OCD is screaming at you to Buy a trailer receiver plug/cover!

My thoughts too Jones but I think the 2003 has no PEM and the pump is always run at full demand. No FPS either.

Like many shortcuts. I find myself spending more time on the shortcut rather than just doing the job without the headache. Pulling the trim is all of a 45 minute job and once it's pulled you have no worry of losing any hardware.
