Re: 2004 XC70 oil pan condition

There's a fuel line bracket bolted to the top of the oil pan, but other than that nothing needed to be removed, just wiggled out.

Removing the transmission torque mount probably helps, as its bolts are kind of bulky.

I'd say it's pretty straightforward.

Re: Oil pressure light not working/iluminating

Thanks for the advice. Turns out the oil pressor switch has a crack, I didn't see that when I check it. Replaced the switch and the oil pressure light is fixed. But this does mean that during instrument panel self check at start up, it does check if the sending unit is functioning. Didn't know that.

Re: Sunroof windnoise

Sorry for the inactivity, I stopped pursuing this issue since the wind noise is not terrible, just that it's smaller when I taped around the sunroof, so figured something could be improved, such as the glass adjustment, seal, etc. Still really appreciate everyone's suggestion, I'll try e.g. checking...

Re: Programming new key/remote

I bought the replacement key on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M3Q16IL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 had the key blade cut at a local locksmith, and then programmed the chip and key fob by Vdash. It seems like you still have the physical key, just messed up the fo...

Re: Replacing REAR subframe trailing arm bushings

I just borrowed the tool from Pete and completed this job. The tool came neatly packaged like a professional toolkit. The dimensions fit the tight spaces perfectly, so that indeed only the trailing arms and the brake line bracket and nothing else needed to be taken off for this job. The old bushing ...

Re: Replacing REAR subframe trailing arm bushings

I think the video is for the P3 platform, my car is P2. I'm sure the Powerflex bushing handles better, but I suppose the OEM rubber bushings are better on the comfort department/ The original bushing did last quite a long time, my car is at over 200k miles, so it'll probably outlast the life of this...

Re: Replacing REAR subframe trailing arm bushings

Basically the rear of the car shift laterally when the rear tires goes over bumps, potholes and especially longitudinal grooves, feeling like the car is pushed sideways and the steering wheel may even shift a bit. The rear would also sort of see-saw vertically with respect to the center of the car. ...

Re: AW55 sump drop without removing subframe?

I was able to remove the pan by jacking the engine up, as describe in that youtube comment, on a 2004 XC70.

Re: Vibration under seat at most speed

It's interesting to know about potential parking brakes issue. Just finished a drive, the rotors were warm but I was able to briefly touch them without burning myself. If they rotated the tires and the shake is still through the seat, it is not the wheels or tires if you are not feeling it through t...
