Re: ...try, try again.
Also, take advantage of FCP's parts guarantee. For example, I've done 3 timing belt (et.al) changes on our 290k XC70 and I only paid for the first set of parts. Very nice!

Re: ...try, try again.
That’s actually not true. Some had them, some didn’t. My 2004 XC, 2004 V70 AWD both have them yet my 2004 V70R does not. I’ve never checked my 2001 XC.

Re: ...try, try again.
+1 on the Volvo plugs and Zimmerman rotor, Akebono pad combo for brakes. Works well for me and I'm in a hilly area. For ATF, use the correct spec. fluid. Toyota ATF (of the proper spec) is compatible and way less expensive than the Volvo stuff. I would suggest a transmission drain and fill. You are ...

Re: Starbucks,s Awesome 2004 XC70 buy!
Re: Seats. The seating surfaces are leather, coated with a rubberized dye/paint. Other surfaces vinyl. Baby wipes with an old fashioned shoeshine action work a treat on the steering wheel. Magic eraser on the door panels, but not on any glossy surface. My "book" is called MVS. Never bought...

Re: Starbucks,s Awesome 2004 XC70 buy!

You need to get the bushings “clocked” exactly right and also set to the correct depth in their respective holes. I debated on saving the ...

Re: Starbucks,s Awesome 2004 XC70 buy!
Thank you. Hope do you guys condition your seats? I like my cars to look as new/good as possible. Also, what are your experiences with the lifetime warranty of FCP. I've bought Bavarian parts from them before but nothing has broken yet. Are you saying if I buy my control arm bushings from them and ...

Re: Starbucks,s Awesome 2004 XC70 buy!
There’s no need to use/buy the special ball joint tool. I have one you can use for free (shipping) if you really want to give it a whirl. Personally I think it’s easier & faster to just put the control arm in a vise and use a large socket to tap the ball joint into the CA. Obviously you’ll want ...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
If you’re that far into it take the knuckle off and press it in with the bench vise. Or a ball joint press. Mine sucked in pretty easy with the bolts but I think they were changed once before. You really don’t want to screw up these threads!
