Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Replaced my rubber windshield trim pieces. I nabbed these strips of rubber off a few S60’s separately at my local pick-a-parts and glued them to my drip rail trim pieces w/ this 3M weatherstrip adhesive. I put painters tape on the painted surface of the trim and the surface of the rubber that shows ...

Re: Steering rack input shaft seal. Am I crazy?
Got your other PM, let me know if you decide to try one from a pick a part. But basically, I made white marks on anything and everything to make sure nothing moved out of place when I finished installing the pinion as there was no procedure to be found on what I was attempting. I figured that they h...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
I picked up an 05 XC70 Cross Country yesterday. I couldn’t resist it. It’s a 2 owner w/ 185k and really clean. Unlike my S60 when I got it, this one has no leaks, no clogged PCV. Last timing svc at 122k. The engine runs great and the transmission shifts smooth. I scanned the codes before I bought it...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Well, the XC started fine yesterday, no codes in Vida. I left it on a trickle charge until this morning and the charge cycle finished. I jacked it up today to take a closer look at everything. The control arms are dated 2017 & 2019 and look good. The front struts are quick struts, not quality. T...

Re: ISO 1998 99 00 sound wall. Lower kick plate, driver side, in charcoal
Well, isn’t that smart of them, adding a connector by the door hinge. 😂 Once I get it I can meet someone in Fredericksburg or the exit south of it which is the Thornburg exit. Depending on my work schedule, I’ll see if I can get it this week. They close at 5p. Certainly this weekend. We can take thi...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Taking a little break. Alternator pulley already on the alternator. I’ve done a couple of those. It gets easier once you remember righty loosey, lefty tighty. I stripped out the first one I ever did. 😬 This is the second PCV job I’ve done, so I’m just taking it slow and being methodical. I’ve got th...

Re: PCV service turns into oil pan work.
This happened with my S60 when I did the PCV 2 summers ago. Carbon in that block passage was hard as cement. I was a bit discouraged, but I powered through trying to take my time and stay organized. I did not do all the seals right away. I took care of the clogs, cleaned the oil pan and pick up tube...

IPD Sachs loaded quick struts are on sale for $259. I just installed a set on my XC70.
