Re: Maybe a transmission issue?

Mine did that about six months ago, it was a precursor to the passenger side CV joint failing. I was concerned about the transmission as well until it developed into an acceleration vibration that gradually got worse and and undriveable. Telltale sign of CV joint failure in my case.

Woo-hoo, fixed my remote!

The day after I bought the car last week, the remote stopped working. Replaced the battery, no dice. I thought maybe I'd unhooked some wire or something with all the messing around I've been doing. Couldn't find anything though. (One nice thing about this car, although it's been some neglected, it h...

Re: P80 door latch actuator internal lube?

Re: P80 door actuator motor

I have ordered 2 of the motors and 6 of the end caps with the resistor in them. If/when they arrive I will try fitting these to actuators I have and see how they work. I'll update as/when it happens.

Re: 1995 Volvo 850 just purchased

I just got the freshly refurbished wheels back today and fitted them to the car straight away. Really liking the look, just need to work on getting the rear spoiler sorted and the suspension overhaul.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Finally removed dash and repaired / reinforced the mounts. All 4 were completely broken off.
After some other behind the dash maintenance, things should go back in tomorrow.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Dash all done and reinstalled. Went really smoothly, but I did have issues with, of all things, the glove box liner. Dumb dumb idea to have the wire loop for the latch behind the lip of the liner. You have to put undo stress on the dash either pulling the liner out or putting it in. Could have been ...

Re: P80 door actuator motor

Well today the first package arrived with the end plates that have the front bearings, motor contacts and the little thermo-resistor tile. I will have to try fitting one of these to a motor at some point and then try and check they work. I have 2 used motors kicking around so I might take those apar...

Perfectly good parts removed: What do you do with them?

When performing preventive maintenance like a timing belt you know is overdue for replacement but is showing no signs of any problem, what do you do with all of the perfectly good parts you remove from the car? When I do a timing belt, there's no way I'm not replacing the water pump, idler and tensi...

Re: Transmission codes

Have you reset and see if they return? From what you have written and the faults I am assuming an auto trans. 2 things jump to mind. One check all your grounds are good and remove the TCU and check the contacts are not oxidized. Clean contacts with a contact cleaner and a soft brush (like an old too...
