P2 PCV Replacement - Notes for the Uninitiated (from the recently initiated)
Hi Everyone, I just wanted to call out a few things I encountered during my first P2 PCV replacement. Things that delayed the process by days and challenged my sanity at times. Apologies for any redundance - I did read quite a few threads on the topic and used several youtube videos as reference so ...

Re: ECM box fan test in VIDA?
I' just back from my little 65 KM ride: no ABS panic messages nor transmission misbehavin' . I'm quietly shouting victory... time will tell, but I'd say it's another testimony for the De-Oxyt treatment...

Re: Possible Haldex Failure 2003 XC70
Fascinating thing, I heard a lot about torque steer before driving for a while w/o my shaft, but I didn't find it to be really much of an issue. Don't know how this suggests my car might be broken.
Or maybe I'm not just sporty enough in my driving. I thought it was fine.

Re: v70 XC AWD Reinstall Rear Coil Springs
I did the whole thing. You need to pull the lower control arms down together, giving you more space to insert the complete strut. You need to use a high tension belt/winch to pull them down and open the upper area for insert. See '1A Auto' video, (Sue) for assistance. Not easy at any rate, but do-ab...

Re: 2001 V70T5M Tow Bar Alternative
As a thank you to the OP, I'd like to report here about my execution of this project, very much facilitated by the OP's descriptions in this thread. I did end up getting a Reese 37042, and I modified it by cutting some pieces down as described in this thread. But instead of trying to squeeze bolts i...

Re: Spark Plug Tube Seal
Depends on how clean and fast you would like this job to be. All above suggestions are valid options. In a shop setting mechanic would most likely use compressed air method. Long thin tube attached to the trigger handle and inserted into tube. Place a good absorbing rug on top of the tube and let's ...

Re: ‘01 Stop/neutral TCM Update
Just an update for the update; the dealership ended up doing instead what's called a Service 2.0 software update. This apparently includes the P/N 30677036 Neutral/Control software, along with anything else it might need. This includes updates for other modules like the ECM or ETM if your car needs ...

Re: 2004 xc70 Trying to replace my valve cover gasket
Make sure every bolt is removed or slacked sufficiently. I see you have an upper engine mount still in place.
But as jonesg said: there are other places that cause leaks more readily.

Re: 2004 xc70 Trying to replace my valve cover gasket
How close are you to Cincinatti? Robert Spinner is there and you need him on this job. Its likely you have a leaking servo gasket or the PCV pipe is leaking. You need to put that back together carefully or else you will really mess stuff up. To remove that valve cover you have to get all the timing ...
