Re: Android Head Unit And Custom Launcher
Really old post but curious how you are getting along with this unit? I have two S60s and pondering upgrading the head unit on my 2008. Hate the idea of losing the storage pocket as there is limited storage pockets in these cars. Would definitely do it if Scosche made a double din frame with the sto...

Re: A friend asked me to recommend which XC wagon?
I think part of the answer depends on how comfortable your friend is with maintenance and repair. I'm ok bargain shopping on something that has had regular maintenance but needs a few repairs. Others want a pristine example. Just have to budget for what you are getting. The 08 S60 2.5T I just bought...

Re: PCV Breather Box
As others have said, PCV replacement is time consuming but not super technical. My biggest fear was forgetting a clamp or something after getting the intake back on. This will give you an idea what you'll be up against on a non-turbo car:

Re: Changing out the Fuel filter
For others picking up this thread... I just did this on my 2008 and pulled the fuel pump fuse to run the car dead and relieve pressure. To my surprise there was a Schrader valve at the fuel filter to drain the remaining fuel out into my drain pan, pretty handy. Don't recall having that on my 2002. F...

Re: Questions on getting my recently bought 2002 V70 XC with 300k+ miles back to Stage Zero.
First thing I would do is the glove test to check the PCV. If it needs replaced your engine is building pressure and you risk blowing cam seals or main seal. When was the timing belt last done? I had an 05 S40 2.4 non-turbo I sent to scrapland at 150k due to a busted timing belt. And the belt was re...

Re: 2006 S60 2.5T FWD - PCV system advice
Just did mine, you are getting ripped off at $1500 (even in Canadian $). I paid $275 US for the kit and rear coolant line from FCPEuro and got busy with other stuff so took to my local independent shop and paid $440 US. Also had them change thermostat, radiator hoses and clean the throttle body whil...

Re: left driveshaft install trouble: 08 3.2 FWD

Re: Maybe a transmission issue?
Could be bad motor mount, could be CV joints. Checking the bottom front and top mounts isn't hard to do. A bit more work to get to the passenger lower mount. All three of these are pretty straightforward DIY, the other two a bit tricky. I'd check mounts and CV shafts before worrying about the trans.

Re: Problems With AAA
Is it typical for dealers to keep cars for a long time? In both cases the dealers can't get parts to fix it due to supply issues and many with the same problem. The supply issues are very widespread and yet erratic/random. I have a colleague that works in supply management and says it is a perpetua...

Re: 06 S60 AWD radiator swap + trans refill info please
There is a dipstick way down to the drivers side of the engine. Yellow dipstick with a little securing clip you can pull it past. I use a long trans funnel with a piece of clear hose attached, tough to get it in the fill pipe. I had to cut and tape bottom of hose lengthwise to get it small enough in...
