Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

As of Sunday, there are no Volvos at my household. From Sept 2018 there has always been one here. My oldest’s fiancé moved to town and needed a car. I gifted him my 08 S60, he’s got an 02 S60—starting a relationship as a two Volvo couple is good karma right? My youngest has the 05 XC90 at uni...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

No backup car (only motorcycles) for the wife and I…now where are those low mileage excellent condition P2s for cheap on Marketplace… Well... it depends on what you define as a low milage, I guess. :D I’d love to find something in the 70-80k miles range. Not afraid to do timing belt and suspe...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

Youngest said the 05 XC90 was running rough. At 208k I was suspecting the CV shafts are finally causing vibration (new ones are waiting in the garage) but alas was clearly a 5 cylinder Volvo running on four. Plug in the iCarSoft to find a Cylinder 4 misfire. Spare coil swapped and running smooth as ...

Re: 2001 V70 Not Included In Airbag Recall?

I would call Volvo Customer Care and push the issue, they’ll need to approve the car being included in the recall. Dealer can only refer you to them.

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

Iv been doing my work at nights, long story but last night I did my oil pan last night, today I’ll be cleaning it While you have it off definitely change the oil pickup tube o-rings (not sure if that is why you are there). My 02 S60 2.4t got the dreaded low oil pressure from sucking air due to the ...

Re: New or restore? h

Uses about 1 quart of oil every 2000k. Three 200k mile Volvos in the family fleet — they have to have solid engines/ transmissions for me to keep investing. I’ll pull the plug when those go. I think you do have to somewhat enjoy (or at least not hate) working on these cars to keep them going. If I ...

Re: XC70 P2 handbrake leather replacement

My new aftermarket pleather one from years ago I got on eBay. Color match was far from perfect but a huge improvement from the tattered old one.

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

Changed the turn signal stalk on the 05 XC90. Electrical tape mending lasted about the last 10k miles lol. $125 at FCPEuro and $30 expedited shipping, dealer wanted $145 + $15 expedited (same delivery). Dealer boneheads would not price match so went with FCP as I had other parts to order, they make ...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

Hello fellow Volvo enthusiasts, summer sun is out, blazing like it’s on a mission to turn me into a puddle of sweat. But instead of melting, I’m doing the noble thing—giving my 2006 Volvo V70, aka the Longnose Elk, the wash it deserves. https://i.imgur.com/n11OsqW.jpg https://i.imgur.com/yuAxN96.jp...
