to me, thats the problem right there.
non OEM drive shafts are rarely good for long even when new.
I would try a used but still good drive shaft.

I drove about 6-7 hours to college, and my volvo worked great! Averaged about 24mpg, which is lower than I expected, but maybe it was becasue the car was full of my stuff. After a summer full of repairs, hopefully it will be reliable until I get home.

It looks dirty in 2008.
