Re: Broken Lumbar Support, Driver's Seat

Matthew's Volvo Site has helped fix many problems with my fleet of P2 Volvos! This topic inspired a slightly different solution. Attached are a couple pictures of the fix that I used for attaching replacement hooks to the end of the lumbar cables. Both cable ends were broken on my 2007 S60. The goal...

Re: 2004 XC70

Replacing the intake pipe may not fix all the problems you have but I can guarantee that the car won't run correctly if leaks between the mass airflow sensor and intake valves are not sealed. The Volvo and aftermarket inlet pipes are extremely expensive. Try getting a part from a u-pick junkyard. I ...

Re: 2004 xc 70 turn signal always on

The posts above were very helpful for me. The pictures below don't match the words because this is my first post with pictures and I don't have it figured out. My 2004 XC70 also had this same problem with the right turn signal being in the on positions whenever the battery was connected to the car. ...

Re: Bosch ignition coil date code 04 XC70

06W11 on the top = 2006 week 11
06W22 also on the top = 2006 week 22.
The boots may have been replaced or the coils were not FIFO at the Bosch plant.

Re: Weird Fuel Pump leak from top of housing?

The new pump flanges following the recall are made with a stronger POM plastic. The old parts are a standard natural/white color POM. The new parts use a dull yellow plastic that is BASF Ultraform POM C13031 XF for hot fuel application. I used this same POM for diesel fuel tank vapor vent valves. BA...

Re: No oil pressure - clogged pickup screen?

When I pulled the oil pan on my 2007 S60 with over 250,000 miles, I was surprised to find o-ring #14 wasn't installed correctly at the factory:

I had the same problem with low oil pressure on a particularly cold day. No more problem with the o-ring replaced.

Re: No oil pressure - clogged pickup screen?

It is also a good time to clean the oil pan and PCV drain passage if you are cleaning the oil pickup and replacing the o-rings. This is the seal kit: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-engine-oil-pan-reseal-kit-s60-s70-v70-xc70-s80-xc90-victor-reinz-kit 20250201_165625.jpg After ultrasonic clean...

Re: Oil filter is doing its job.... FULL of sludge

My oil filter looked like the two pictures from the original poster after 6,150 miles from the prior oil change on my 2007 S60 2.5T with 264,000 miles. I had a low oil pressure warning on a particularly cold day of 5*F in Michigan. The exhaust VVT solenoid also threw a code. I drained the oil and fo...

Re: Aluminum wheel corrosion welded (?) to hub

Strong heal kicks to the tire on alternating sides about a hundred times to rock the wheel back and forth to break the corrosion. Don't kick hard enough to knock the car off the floor jack, jack stands, or lift supporting the car. I found the kicks work better if you get under the car and kick the t...

Re: Check your Banjo PCV bolt

This forum posting for a disassembled PCV check valve banjo bolt was key for me to figure out what happened to my 2007 Ti S60 that had bad compression on cylinder 3. After a bunch of research, I opened the engine and found damage from the pin and ball: Piston_3_Damage.png Cylinder_3_Head_Valves.jpg....
