I'm not sure about your ECU - I would think there would be a sticker on it if it's a tuned unit from IPD.

Re: Purchased 97 850 GLT and it's scary fast....tuned ECU?
Check the ECU. It's possible it has a tuned ECU, but who knows. The LPT cars have a bit of grunt off the line, but they tend to run out of steam in stock form. My wife's '97 GLT was fairly peppy when we bought it, but since we've put a larger turbo on it, and a mild tune, etc. it breathes a lot bett...

Re: Purchased 97 850 GLT and it's scary fast....tuned ECU?
Having both the LPT and HPT in my fleet, the LPT is awesome off the line. The only thing that approaches it is the HPT m56 spooled up to 4000 rpm dropping a Porsche in the rear view.
Ok, passing Mrs Robinson in Rolls was cool too. She caught up with me later and gave me some Benjamin’s

Re: 97 850 GLT crank no start after very cold temps
Moved down to NC a while ago in part to escape the cold, but when I lived in CT we once had a super cold (for me at least) spell of about a week at around 0F (about -20C) and after that my car would crank but not start for a couple of days. I heated up the fuel filter with a hair dryer -- enough hea...

Re: 1997 850 aftermarket headlight installation assistance
I'd guess that they are for the halo rings, but that's just a guess. How are they supposed to work ? Parking, halo, low beam, high beam ?

Re: 1997 850 aftermarket headlight installation assistance
As Sveedy says, do they supply any instructions on the order of the lighting? The Volvo light switch only has 2-3 settings depending how they are set up. In daylight, all off (or up here daylight running/marker lights), then sidelights/parking lights, then main beams. The first option is set by a sm...

Re: 97 850 GLT crank no start after very cold temps
Thanks. I did fill up the tank before the very cold night, but still might've had condensation especially since I have a large evap leak. I put in some Kleen-Flo gas line antifreeze, which I think is similar to HEET, but not until after the fact, so it probably couldn't get where it needed to go to ...

Re: 1997 850 front strut self leveling confusion
Correct. I am not aware of any relationship between front and rear shocks in terms of P80's other than the V70 XC has different front shocks. Volvo has a bunch of variations in spring stiffness or damper/shocks depending on the model variant which can be identified from the last string of numbers on...

Re: 1997 850 Engine & Transmission oil change results / requesting feedback
* The trans-fluid from the 00 S70 with around 143K miles purchased last year also had pretty clean fluid. Owner either had it flushed or there was transmission work. Car was in good shape overall. Oil was not too dirty either. On the otherhand the 98 S70 T5 purchased in 2012 with 230K miles had thic...
