I flush out old by idling the car with the cap off, the drain cock open, and overflowing the fill tank for 30 minutes with a garden hose.
It’s a perfect time to wash and wax the car while you watch it , too. Don’t leave it as Mr Murphy will slip your hose out and cook your cylinder head.

Re: 1997 Volvo 850 GLT Turbo - very small hose above lower radiator hose in engine bay is broken.
I think my '97 855 GLT also had a hard white hose like this, with a crumbly rubber elbow, and it was part of the SAS system, connected to the solenoid valve on top of the radiator as abscate mentions above. If you're keeping it, I would recommend using a piece of silicone hose to replace the rubber ...

Re: 1997 Volvo 850 GLT Turbo lower radiator hose routing
Sorry for the delay. Don't have an 850 turbo kicking around to check so had to go look this up! Here is Robert DIY's video on the subject and looking at around 4.25 it shows after he fitted a new hose it runs under that small hose. Another picture on a different website showed the same. https://www....

I had that concern too -- flexible thick wall silicone tubing worked. You can get a tight seal on the narrow end and still be able to stretch the tube over the larger fitting on the other side.

4 or 5 mm hose should work. I have both, but can't remember which I used most commonly. Measure the outer diam. of the line, substract 1mm and use that as hose ID and you should be fine.

Re: 1997 850 out of alignment after CV Axle replacement
Yeah, it's pretty difficult to even get things back together (Depending on how you took stuff apart) if things are off.
What was your disassembly process to get the old axle out?

Re: 1997 850 out of alignment after CV Axle replacement
Here's the official VIDA documentation showing what chrafael means. And to correct scot850, you must replace the nut for the control arm ball joint to steering knuckle pinch connection. Haynes doesn't say it's single use and it doesn't require angle tightening (torque to yield), so I checked VIDA to...

Re: 1997 850 out of alignment after CV Axle replacement
I disagree with this. Experience has shown several owners have had the bolt shear after re-use. Go ahead and re-use, that is your call.
