That throttle cable looks like it's at the end of its life,
I just replaced mine a few weeks ago, due to the cable hanging up inside the sheathing. It adjusts by threading the square piece that slips into the mounting bracket.

Not too critical to use OE part there. Any fuel vapour resistant hose if the right size will work

It had one previous owner (family friends who bought it in August 2000), and about 20 years of dealership only maintenance before receiving less care the past three years. I drove it 500 miles home. This fine Volvo appears to have had 20 years of dealer service and 3 years of neglect. You could do a lot worse. Several drain and fills on the transmission will likely give good results. If you don't need/ want to use the sunroof and don't care about the alarm, you can just ignore it. It must have ...
