Re: VGLA code - can you obtain it yourself?

Figured out my new VIDA setup, and then figured out how to program a remote. 3 Day subscription is $70 + $71 for remote application software. So no one needs to go searching for this like I did, here is the software P/N: 9438431 The VGLA can store up to three remotes. Mine already had three programm...

Re: Late P80 power steering fluid - Not listed on parts sites?

Any Dexron III compatible will work so long as it is a FWD 4 speed Aisin Transmission. The 99 V70R and V70 XC and S70 AWD use Mobil 3309 / Toyota Type T-IV after a TSB was issued to switch over to it in the early 2000's to solve some lock up chatter that the transmissions could experience. The 2000...

Re: New Key Fob for 2000 V70R—part discontinued?

The late model P80 cars (99+) don't need a barcode for programming. They will need an active VIDA subscription ($70 for three days) and a software download ($70) to pair a new remote. Even through the remote is no longer available from Volvo, I got this one off of eBay a while back. It says DENSO on...

Re: New Key Fob for 2000 V70R—part discontinued?

It's a similar process to the dealer doing it, but if you are used to working with VIDA (which you should try to do as it's a fantastic tool for these cars) it's easier than it seems. I documented how I used it on my 99 R on my swedespeed thread. https://www.swedespeed.com/threads/my-1999-v70r-class...

Re: 302mm front brake overhaul/refresh 98 s70

302mm are some of the best improvements you can make to a P80. Your list is just fine as it is, better to stop there and have enough time and money leftover for the rest of the car! You shouldn't need to touch the 4 bolts for the hub unless you are intent on replacing them just to have new ones. Not...

Parking Brake Cable Replacement on AWD P80s

I've been looking for more information on parking brake cable replacements for AWD P80s. One of mine is for sure broken and needs replaced. I have the parts on hand, but all I see are FWD P80 tutorials and I believe the routing for the cables may be a bit different. Has anyone replaced theirs and ca...

Re: Parking Brake Cable Replacement on AWD P80s

Thank you! If I drop the rear trailing arm mount a bit to allow for access, will that require an alignment? Not planning on removing that bolt the whole way.

Re: 99 S70 GLT Engine B5254T

As you mentioned the throttle pedal not being responsive during one of the times it was acting up, I'd get a sweep test done of the electronic throttle body if that hasn't already been serviced or replaced with an updated unit.

Re: 99 S70 GLT Engine B5254T

Hi Caesium, can you please explain what a sweep test is and how its performed? Yes; it’s a test of the electronic throttle body module (ETM). It “sweeps” the butterfly valve inside the throttle body all the way open to all the way closed to see if it can move as it is suppposed to. Some of the “chu...
