Do it yourself valve spring compressor
DSC02820.JPG Hello all, I've been lurking around here while I work on a cheap project car I picked up. I ended up with a warped head that needs decked, so I figured I'd pull my valves myself to save some cost when I take it in to the machine shop. It turns out, a valve spring compressor that *might...

2004 V70 Repair of 8671224 Brake Control Module, BCM.
2004 Volvo V70 2.5T FWD Hello. Posting this as a giving-back to the forum which has helped me out many times over the years. Since last November I have struggled with intermittent brake, dead gauges, and transmission system errors. They come in flurries of great frustration several months apart and ...

Re: DSTC failed - bouncy brake boost pressure sensor XC90 2003
Values match P1 and P2, think offset is reasonable. I might check the integrity of your electrical connections given the jumpiness of the sensor 1 output with the brake pedal untouched. If you do end up replacing one brake booster pressure switch, replace them both. I get this message sporadically. ...

Volvo remote behavior
Greetings, My 2006 V70 only came with one key+remote  I've been wanting to add another key+remote for a while. I got a new Volvo key+remote and wanted to use D5T5 but they seem overly busy (no reply to emails) so I wait. I have read elsewhere that remotes are registered in the UEM and ID48 key...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
350 psi for compression? Is that higher than stock? Did wonder too. Could not find the nominal compression for that D5244T (yet). Engine has either 125k or 190k miles on it. Pretty healthy compression for both mileages. 20240103_114429.jpg Haynes paper manual says 24 to 31 Bar Normal, 22 Bar minumu...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Not exactly on the Volvo yet, but I spent last night soldering on 40 wires on a test ECM I have in order to program it with my Arduino. Note where I said test ECM. As soon I verify my code works, I will be doing the same on a bricked ECM I have in order to replace my semi-broken one on my car. I als...
