Headlight Wiper Actuator Repair
Late last year I disassembled and repaired the drivers side headlight wiper actuator in my 2000 V70. I took some photos of the process but haven't posted them anywhere until now. There are tutorials online about how to get the actuators out of the car. The component that fails is the solid state fus...

Re: Headlight Wiper Actuator Repair
That's exactly what it is! The old fuse is just pressed in and held by the friction and compression forces from the copper strips. Due to likely corrosion, the old PTC fuse will gain its high resistance value far too soon, which is why the failure mode is the wiper arm moving very slowly at first an...

Re: Headlight Wiper Actuator Repair
Thanks! I'd rather the information I learned researching this repair go on to help others than just rot in my head forever. I'll continue to do that as I keep tinkering with things on this old brick of mine

Re: Headlight Wiper Actuator Repair
Quick question. I heard that tabs are notorious to break when you attempt to open the unit and also that seal might not be great after you put it together. Would you recommend to put some form of windshield silicone for better seal? In retrospective, would it be easier to make bend cooper strings t...

Re: Retrofitting fog lights
I finally received my new fog lights after ordering them a little over a month ago (they were on back order). I just installed them today and figured I should post what I did in case anyone else wants to reference it. Here are the aftermarket lights I bought on iPD (made by Professional Parts Sweden...

Re: AC Temp Sensor Problem - 2000 V70 FWD NA
I got the zip ties installed, the gap ended up becoming tighter than anticipated at 0.15-0.2 mm. The clutch is not touching the clutch plate though and the clutch is now operating as it should be. AC blows nice and cold and most importantly, it stays that way. Thanks abscate!

Re: V70 98 how-to adjust headlight wiper motor?
I made this post earlier this year regarding the thermofuse, it has some good pictures and some information on the function of the actuator. Hopefully it helps!

Re: 2000 V70 SE - Is there a Cargo cover?
I made up a set using cardboard, but I had a car with them already drilled. I have a set of Volvo templates that a MVS member kindly gave to me. Unfortunately they are with a buddy who I was looking for them for to fit one of these. I could take a picture of them or pictures of the holes I drilled ...

Re: 2000 V70 SE - Is there a Cargo cover?
There has to be a way to mark an index card for this and post it here without shipping templates around… That can be done for sure, my goal with the help and generosity of Neil is to make a 3D model that can be used to print templates so in future hunting down and shipping around templates won't be...

Re: 1998 V70R on Copart
The car sold today, $2,900 winning bid. That's about $3,830 out the door after fees. That doesn't include potential shipping costs and of course the money it's gonna take to fix it and replace all the maintenance items. Seems like too much to me, I thought it would be a tough sell at $1,000... Hopef...
