Re: '02 V70XC drive shaft removal - sanity check
Thanks for the replies. Especially the FCPEuro blog explanation. I had been looking for a simple explanation of the AWD concept of operation which that article provides. I strongly suspect that I have the GKN reactive viscous coupler based on its age (2002) and the way the system reacted when I firs...

Re: Full size spare tire in P2 S60/V70?
Full size 16" tire fits nicely in both my '01 and '02 V70s. It's snug but not difficult to get in and out. Seems to me that the enclosure was designed to accommodate the full size tire since the donut tire has lots of clearance. Note that a longer than standard battery makes it fiddly to get in...

I had difficulty getting the hose clamp in place because of adjacent wiring harness crowdi...

Re: Brake swap from XC90 to V70
Neil, All my P2s have 285 mm front rotors, not sure about the rear. The XC90s are said to have 316 mm fronts and 308 mm rear. A number of posts claim significantly better braking with nothing other than rotor, caliper, and bracket swap. They are said to fit virtually all 16" wheels and all 17s....

Re: '94 940 shift interlock disconnect
Tried fiddling a good bit today to get the shifter out of park without success. Was raining today so I decided to jack up the rear wheels and lower the drive axle on the tow dolly to tow it backwards. Towed OK but it's definitely something I would not do for any distance or at speed. Will now attemp...
