ECM-434C Fuel tank system, leakage
Hi guys, I just took the diagnostic below from my son's car: https://www.mediafire.com/convkey/157d/z57c56mkts35k4c4g.jpg At this time, I am only interested in the ECM-434C error, the BCM one is old and I know where it is coming from, but the ECM-614B is new, like the ECM-434C and I am not sure if t...

Re: When did you last have paid service for your Volvo
I almost went to the dealer a few months ago to spend $80 on anaerobic sealer, does that count? I realized that despite how much of a hurry I was in to put my oil pan back on, the expedience was not worth the exorbitant fee. Last year I went to a tire shop to have my new tires mounted and balanced :...

Unprofessional tips on adding an aftermarket amp to factory radio, HU-650 (and maybe other models)
Hi I wanted to post some personal/unprofessional notes about adding an aftermarket amplifier to the Volvo factory radio. You can install an amplifier that increases power to your cabin speakers or powers a subwoofer but keep the stock radio. Crutchfield says it's not possible, but it is with some w...

Re: Extreme blow-by - No sludge in Oil Pan - 2007 XC70
Btw, all of my P2 Volvos: I remove and store the cosmetic cover on the garage shelf. This way I can easily inspect this area for oil leak. It also makes it easy to check/replace ignition coils, plugs.

Re: Extreme blow-by - No sludge in Oil Pan - 2007 XC70
That's a good idea to consider replacing the thermostat at this time. More $ out of the pocket but much, much easier during a full PCV service.
I read your post again but I don't really know about how e.g. a clogged cat could be relevant here.

Re: Gap in oil pan? 2007 XC70
Got your PM - Blacklab’s photo is describing the “plan view” of the shape, or you could say the X-Y dimensions. You seem to be saying there is a gap in the Z direction, or up and down. The block and pan surfaces should be flat flat…like steel straight edge flat. There should be no up-down gap in the...

Re: Gap in oil pan? 2007 XC70
Feel free to use my picture MoVolvos, cmayo1, we’re going to need a picture of both the block and the oil pan, this doesn’t make any sense unless there’s a chunk of iron broken off or something as BlackBart suggested.

Re: Car Won't Start after PCV Job - 2007 XC70
If you have possibly flooded the engine with fuel you can get 'lawnmower syndrome'. Basically you have lost compression on some or all cylinders. Remove the plugs and add a teaspoon of engine oil to each cylinder and try to start is again. Leave the plugs out over night somewhere warm to dry out and...

Re: Car Won't Start after PCV Job - 2007 XC70
The wiring with the coils seem a bit off, because it's a little tight on the drivers side of the engine, so if anyone has any pictures of what their wiring looks like, that would be a nice reference. tried to upload a zip with pictures and video of my 2001, it's giving me a server error on trying t...

Re: Car Won't Start after PCV Job - 2007 XC70
This happened to me after doing a PCV job and it was a flooded engine.
