Re: Best place to push wire through firewall

IIRC Volvo installed an accessory connector that offers fused switched/nonswitched power in the passenger compartment. It is located under the dash on the driver's (LHD) side. Color is yellow. This has been discussed previously in the forum and if you search the forum you will find it complete with...

Re: 1997 S70 'Red' Turbo Vacuum Line

Buy a cheap mirror on a bendy stick or adjustable stick to help you be able to see what you are trying to do. It is a pain to access that pipe as you have found out. Removing the turbo in pipe is definitely going to give you more room to work on this. It is still a challenge. Welcome to MVS and hope...

Re: 1997 S70 'Red' Turbo Vacuum Line

When I fixed mine I ended up cutting the line to where it was less brittle and splicing it as a temp fix. Then I blew an exhaust valve and never fixed it permanently

Re: 1997 S70 'Red' Turbo Vacuum Line

The red compressor hose is a tough one to get on with the snorkel in place. Get the air box out to get room, snorkel off, move slowly and carefully to avoid breaking stuff. You can splice in broken crankcase ventilation stuff on a -1998 , no need to buy new.

Re: 1997 S70 'Red' Turbo Vacuum Line

Removing the turbo inlet pipe clamp can be a royal pain. However when you go to reinstall it, orient the hose clamp so that it is facing upward, and you will be able to easily remove and reinstall it in the future from up top with a long 1/4" extension.

Re: 1997 S70 'Red' Turbo Vacuum Line

Check the line that goes to the fuel pressure regulator if the ones off the tcv look good.
It runs from one of the intake nipples to a hard line in the front of the engine under the intake tube that’s hard to see but that might have broken as well.

Re: 1997 S70 'Red' Turbo Vacuum Line

Yea on the opposite side of the nipple that then has the small “j” hose that goes into the turbo control valve.

I think there’s like five lines in total that I needed to replace. Then a couple random pieces up by the radiator as well. 5mm silicone tubing took care of most of it.

Re: 1997 S70 'Red' Turbo Vacuum Line

I think there’s 3 different sized lines in total but the 5mm should work on most of them. The smallest lines that are like 3mm are usually hard and then have vacuum elbows that you could just replace with 5mm line or just replace the elbows. It was easier for me to order the tubing online as most of...

Re: 1997 S70 'Red' Turbo Vacuum Line

From what I’ve seen it could be either from an air leak but if you’ve replaced the vac lines and checked everything off the radiator and intercooler then tbe issue could be a dirty/bad maf. Easiest is to just unplug it and start the car and see how it runs vs with it plugged in. You may want to even...

Re: 1997 S70 T5 stock boost pressure?

What codes are you getting? Let's start there.

Is your fuel economy suffering? Keep an eye on that.
