Re: XC70 2004/2005 front driver door swap?
Harrys U Pull It in Hazelton, Pa. has an '05 XC in black. They sell complete doors -- glass, guts, electronics, etc. for $45. The real issue with that is that you don't know whether the car has the door you need until you get there and they won't check stock for you over the phone. It is probably wo...

Re: XC70 2004/2005 front driver door swap?
DL -- Check this site for a detailed review I did of the Harry's experience so you have an idea of what you're getting into. It will help ensure a successful trip. Never go there for just one part. I have had remarkably good luck there getting nice, complete sets of alloy wheels for cheap, for examp...

Re: Front Brake Pads
Volvo OEM pads always exhibit good stopping power. The downside with them is they tend to be incredibly dusty and your front wheels will look black in no time.

Re: POLL: How did you buy from FCP?
Matt -- I am guessing this thread arose from a discussion I had with Steve the other day. I have been an FCP customer for at least ten and probably more like 12-15 years. I have given them literally tens of thousands in business over the years. I rarely, if ever purchased from FCP through a Matthew'...

Re: POLL: How did you buy from FCP?
My understanding, based on direct communication with the folks at FCP, is the banner ad wasn't working for them, that they remain committed to supporting MVS and just have to find a way that works for them, which they are in the process of exploring. Rather than a knee jerk, "I'm taking my busi...

Re: Considering an trans-plant on a 280K 04 XC70
Could this be a Haldex (AWD) issue and not a trans issue? I am not familiar with failing Haldex symptoms, but I'll bet some folks on here are.

Re: '97 850 - repair or scrap?
In NJ, you could buy a pretty decent used car for $4,400. If you can't do at least some of this work yourself and (am I reading this correctly -- the State of Ca. will give you $1500 for the car?), then I'd take the $1500 and use that to help finance the purchase of a replacement vehicle.

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today....now sticky!!
Ran out to Harry's U-Pull-It in Allentown, Pa. with my bro before it got hot. Pulled a ruby red metallic passenger front door from an '05 XC 70. Came home and replaced the door on my '04 XC 70 (we parked in the shade). For XC 70 owners -- my front passenger door was rusting out along the bottom lip ...
