Re: 95 Volvo 850 Turbo won't start

Good news! You got away this time!
At this point...i would check alternator output with digital multimeter...on battery terminals first.
You should get 13.8-14v at battery terminals with engine idling, headlights, heater blower at lower speed and radio ON.

Re: 850 T5 - Running issues post fuel-pump replacement

Pinch the return line of FPR while testing the fuel pressure on the rail.
If fuel pressure rises it is not the pump.

Re: 98 S70 voltage drop?

2AWG cables are needed for positive battery terminal to starter and from starter to alternator b+. Also...2AWG(it's 25mm2 EU standard) from negative battery terminal to transmission housing. Voltage drop test must be performed after driving the car for about 30min and without turning the engine off ...

Re: 98 S70 voltage drop?

If you can't drive it for 30min....let it idle for 30min and then perform voltage drop test.

abscate wrote: 04 Jun 2021, 04:39 Don’t buy the aftermarket one if you go for a part, mine lasted one year. Go Volvo here and cry once. Ok, FCP had to cry on this one.
Make your own....buy 2AWG cable and two crimp connectors.
Use zip-ties to secure it along the route.

Re: 98 S70 GT: value?

You can call it like you want, but there was NO GT badge from a Volvo, officiailly.
SE badge was used on 850 too.

Yes..there are some brochures on the internet mentioning a GT,but...officially from Volvo...no.

Re: It's not always the ABS module

I had abs sensor wiring problem this winter on driver's side front wheel. It drove me nuts and the symptoms are almost just like bad solders in abs/tracs module except that it always triggered abs/tracs light on full right turn(it took a while before i discovered that). Turn the car off(wheels are s...

Re: Intermittent A/C

Yes....how did you checked freon level since you need a professional ac shop to do this?! Other than low freon level....ecu will kill the ac compressor when engine temperature is high and cooling fan is working hard to maintain optimal engine temperature. This would happen especially on hilly roads ...

Re: 850 Crankshaft pulley question

It never fails and there is nothing that can fail on it unless it is bent or hit by something...in fact your old one is good enough just like brand new one(if it is OE Volvo).
There is absolutely no need to touch it at all.
No gains and no losses too.
