At this point...i would check alternator output with digital multimeter...on battery terminals first.
You should get 13.8-14v at battery terminals with engine idling,headlights,heater blower at lower speed and radio ON.

Pinch the return line of FPR while testing the fuel pressure on the rail.
If fuel pressure rises it is not the pump.

2AWG cables are needed for positive battery terminal to starter and from starter to alternator b+. Also...2AWG(it's 25mm2 EU standard) from negative battery terminal to transmission housing. Voltage drop test must be performed after driving the car for about 30min and without turning the engine off ...

If you can't drive it for 30min....let it idle for 30min and then perform voltage drop test.

You can call it like you want,but there was NO GT badge from a Volvo,officiailly.
SE badge was used on 850 too.

Yes....how did you checked freon level since you need a professional ac shop to do this?! Other than low freon level....ecu will kill the ac compressor when engine temperature is high and cooling fan is working hard to maintain optimal engine temperature. This would happen especially on hilly roads ...

It never fails and there is nothing that can fail on it unless it is bent or hit by something...in fact your old one is good enough just like brand new one(if it is OE Volvo).
There is absolutely no need to touch it at all.
