Re: Diary of a 17 y/o with an 850

If you use lubricant and back off the torque to 50-60 ft lbs instead of the stock 80 ft lb, it is much easier on your tools and your back - which will thank you later in life... If he want to chase wheels down the road. Seriously....it's not fun when your wheel bolts get loosened while dr...

Re: jack stowage - how does it work?

5x108 ET 35-49 6-6.5J CB 65.1 All big Volvos use the same bolt pattern. Newer ones too but have higher ET...and as long as you stay up to ET 49 it is ok....ET 50 and higher will not fit. That said....p2 models can use all p80 rims but p80 can't use p2 rims in some cases. http://www.wheelfitment.eu/c...

Re: hardly running 850 glt

Aftermarket MAF is always a bad idea on these cars. Bosch is only way to go. Timing can be off UP to 3 teeth....third tooth is game over. The car will run with 2 up to 3 teeth off but it will run like crap....it would tend to stall and would have low power unless you floor it. Fuel consumption would...

Re: hardly running 850 glt

Put a strong light in there and you will see it.
No special tools for timing belt job on these cars are needed.
Cam locking tool isn't needed at all.

Re: hardly running 850 glt

There is no rush in this job...just take one step at a time, think and everything must end up well. Don't remove spark plugs, this will prevent things from moving while you install the belt. After you're done....turn the engine a few revolutions by hand...re-check the ALL marks and if everything is ok...
