Remembered this from doing the 1999-on PCV You put the banjo on the fitting, with the two copper washers, then you put a sacrificial orings on the bolt to hold it together. Once you get the banjo started, snip the oring and pull it off. You can also snag the oring with a pick and pull it off until i...

Re: Turbo control solenoid compatibility question.
I just got that one straight from the dealership as a replacement for my iPD HD one, which I managed to mangle...
Works great - I’d say it feels even sharper than the iPD unit. Pop it in there.

Re: When it's time to move on (and what did you buy?)
I'd get a 2004-2007 model with 2.5T engine with < 100K miles and with good maintenance records.
In 2018, I got a 2004 V70 with 100K.

Re: 1999 S70 NA Evita right front caliper hot 30648017 (crappy caliper slide bolts)
I was doing an axle CV boot today so I decided to check the front caliper slide pins at the same time and re-grease the front pads. This car (98 V70) already had rebuilt calipers when I got the car (213k miles) and they are still on there (279k miles). Fortunately I kept the badly rusted, factory ca...

Safe Boost Limits By Engine Chart
Hello friends! I was pondering what the safe turbo boost limits for each model were and it lead me to doing a little bit of math on everyone's behalf so that you can have an actual reference chart to go by. I have calculated the Effective Compression Ratio (ECR) of the three available P80 Volvo Engi...

Re: Mishimoto universal fan
I went through a spell of pulling fans from P80's for some reason along with the cabin sensors. I have a bunch of them and they have all been tested in one of my cars with quiet bearings. Need to start clearing some stuff out as hope to move in the near future. Some are OE and some are Behr (OEM). $...

Re: Turbo control solenoid compatibility question.
The AC Delco aren't readily available in europe (at least when I tried to find them). The Pierburg are also used by a range of other european manufactuerers. @jreed I guess you can use the even newer parts, (it looks exactly the same as the one I used) - I think als long as they have 3 ports they mo...
