Re: Getting up arrow and check engine light on after repairing PNP switch

Just to make sure I have this right, I'm looking down into the ECU and TCU housing and I hook up my multimeter like so and test continuity on pins A3 (jn P, R,N, D, 3, L), A4 (jn P, R,N, D, 3, L), A5 (jn P, R,N, D, 3, L) and A6 (jn P, R,N, D, 3, L)? Yes, that's right. If you look at the chart in th...

Re: Rear Brakes not engaging

stick a thin piece of wood in both sides of the rotor if you hit the pedal with the pads out. I am pretty sure the rear calipers will psuh both pistons out and blow fluid everywhere without oads. Re: 1998 T5 surging at idle, code 1505 but replacement IAC encounters same problem

Agree with Abscate and Sveedy - I had a horrible idle problem...bought a smoke machine (simple cheap one) found 2 leaks... replaced the lines and boom smooth idle. and no issues since then.

Re: Questions about rear brake calipers R&R

ok guys... I got new calipers and pads and had a chance to swap them out. The pins were corroded and the pistons while not stuck were very very hard to move. The combination of crudy pins and pistons was the culprit. I took abscates advice and had new parts on hand before disassembly. That was good ...

Re: Questions about rear brake calipers R&R

Nice! I did hit them a few times with penetrant over the course of a couple days. I will remember the heat in the future. They were not horribly stuck, but I was taking no chances.

next up is a spring seat replacement....
