How I fixed a 1998 v70 driver's side knee panel
When I got my 98 v70xc, the driver's knee panel was missing, with the slot on the dash itself missing the bottom edge. In s/v70 cars, the knee panels are held up by two tabs, which lock into slots in the dashboard, as well as a screw in the center. Thankfully I was able to find an intact panel, in t...

Re: Can the ECU detect low oil 1998 v70 ?
1. I have *not* seen any Engine ECU DTC codes for Low Oil Level or Low Oil Pressure -- not for 98 S70/V70, nor for 96-97 850. 2. However, I believe the 96-97 850 had the capability to detect Low Oil Pressure and communicate that to the COMBI as a DTC code. That being said, in the ~6-7 years I activ...

Re: Auction buying advice
I did win the auction. Thanks to everyone here for their advice. Here's what I learned so it may help others in the future. These observations came from Capital in Manchester, NH but may be true of other auction companies. 1. and 2. You can't go see the cars before bidding. You certainly can't drive...

Re: Non-Volvo car chat megathread
Took a trip south to Scottsdale for the Good Guys Classic car show with autotest and classic drag racers. Interesting show, but little in the way of Non-US cars, which is ok. A few Mini's, MGB's, a 73 Mercedes 450SE and a 1980's Rolls Royce. Last 2 were for sale. Only Far East car was a Z350/370 or ...

Rehabilitating the T5M
I just purchased a 1998 V70 T5 manual (T5M) in Nautic Blue with 178k miles. This thread will document my work to rehabilitate it and its journey to (likely) becoming my daily driver. I drove a 2000 V70 NA manual for 18 years until it got rear ended and totaled (and stripped by abscate ). For the pas...
