X-Ray Auto 20th Anniversary Party

Post by BlackBart »

https://psvsa.org/index.php/2022/08/21/ ... #more-1542

“As the patron saint of classic Volvos, we all paid homage yesterday at the church of X-Ray Auto.“

This is a shop in ye olde Ballard in Seattle. Down by the tracks. Down by the docks and fishing boats.

Super Size cooler of Rainier !
Kind of a shame they couldn't get any Olympia. It would take bringing it back from the Pabst dead-zone.
There was a listing on BaT that featured a medallion from these folks.

I like vintage GPS devices. I have many from the 1950's gathered by father in law.

We have a special drawer of folded, manual GPS devices.

Have you ever seen so many Duets in one place?!
I knew a guy with a ceramics studio in the red building down the block in the background. Across the street is a big marine equipment supplier. At the end of that street is a public boat ramp into the ship canal - when my son was a tot, we’d go sit down there with a burger and watch big boats go by.

I didn't notice that shop when I lived there. At 20 years, my overlap with that place was 2003-2007, so I don't know how I missed it.

That party looks like fun! I would have had a good time there.

I think it moved once. I believe the first spot was the old warehouses along Market street right before the little restaurant and the locks on the left (south side of Market). I remember a small flock of old Volvos parked outside and wondered what was up.

I am not sure why, but I find this business model very appealing.

He also converted a couple of 544s to electric a few years ago, to keep them on the street. Town use, not much range.
