Rear control arm link removal

I haven't seen an easy way to remove the trailing arm links on an 850 or P1 car. I have an easier way that will save some time and headache. I went ahead and purchased the Volvo tool to remove the links from an online store that saved me about $100 from the IPD price (no offense IPD, I love you guys...

Re: Finally figured out why my 2001 XC70 tail lights kept failing

I realize this is a old thread, but I experienced the constant blowing bulbs situation with my P2 car 2004 S80. I went through a rash of bulb failure including headlights. It was really driving me crazy. Years earlier the car wouldn't start at a inopportune time so I called AAA and paid them to inst...

Re: Would you buy this t-shirt?

I know most on here are stuck in 850 land, but Volvo has had so many other neater looking cars like the little C70?hatchback or prettier cars like the 2007 C70 convertible or the new V90 Cross Country or for that matter the V70 Cross Country. Altho the 850/V70 wagon original design was gorgeous and ...

Re: Finally figured out why my 2001 XC70 tail lights kept failing

I replaced my Group Size 48 (H6) battery (650 CCA if I remember correctly) with a Group Size 49 (H8) battery (900CCA). There are two mounting spots for the hold-down bracket with the furthest mounting towards middle of car to fit this larger battery. I'm still having odd start issues, but that's bec...

Re: 2002 V70 T5 using Eibach springs

Finally got around to upgrading to 17s (225/45/17). It does handle better, whole car feels more planted.

Re: Why I hate my 2000 V70R!

+1 on the premium fuel. On an NA running around the city I used to use regular gas, but if any highway or long distance driving was required I always use premium. On all 3 of our current Volvos (including the project V70 base) I now only use premium. Unlike many on here I do a very low mileage so th...

Re: A "REAL" fix for the 850 wiper arms

I think I actually bought the genuine part then. But we have a lot of rain. And I drive it a lot. So maybe.. Anyway. I just came back from the junkyard and got me a 4 euro s70 passengerside arm. Didnt count on it only coming off with a socket. On the 850 you screw the nut on the arm. Not in it. But ...

Re: 850 wagon base, turn, hazards and high beam blows fuse

There is most likely a short.

I'd take out all the turn signal bulbs out on all four corners of the car and see if it blows the fuse when you use turn signal. If it doesn't, then put the bulbs back in one at a time and see which bulb blow the fuse. Then you can at least isolate the circuit.

Re: 850 wagon base, turn, hazards and high beam blows fuse

Also check the actual turn signal switch itself. It may have a internal short or broken wire after 20+ years.
