I'll give it a whack. I post the following for those who may also be struggling with this issue and for future reference. I apologize for the order the attachments are in.

Re: History of the Volvo 5 Cylinder: Part 2

Mom had a straight 6 Volvo in the 70s and for 1980 got a PRV which ate the camshaft up while I was driving and blamed on me. PRV yuck! The 86 Buick 3.8 shaked annoyingly the turbo 4 was fine, but the new 960 drove so good. Here in the US all 960 cars I saw were 6 cylinder. June The Car Talk guys (R...

Clean this sensor if you have not

I was reading a thread on here where someone mentioned this sensor may need to be cleaned. Sure enough mine was full of fluffy stuff. Now for years my car only seemed to blow ice cold air out if the vents only on the hottest day like 100°, even set all the way to cold. Yesterday the outside temp rea...

Re: Clean this sensor if you have not

To anyone stumbling across this thread, be aware this sensor is considered fragile. My small observation that follows can very well be flawed/biased. Still.. Want to mention, I'm in Canada, some products may not be available in other places....

LED replacement bulbs, 2008 S60

As incandescent bulbs burn out, I'm trying to replace them with LED bulbs. My criteria: direct replacement, no modifications, no CAN bus issues. Thus far I've found two I can recommend: Parking lights, front Sylvania LED Mini Bulb 168 O'Reilly Amazon Double the brightness (but not too bright), white...

Re: Amplifier - How Volvo adds it

Some notes on installing the Volvo 9452029 amplifier in a 1998 V70. Easy job once you know about the hidden features and have the right parts. The carpet on the transmission tunnel pulled right out from under the various trim pieces and refit just as easily. As an audiophile, I can tell you that the...

Re: LED replacement bulbs, 2008 S60

The OE 7507 incandescent bulb is 25 watts and about 280 lumens. 1500 lumens is more like 5x. That's way too bright and could blind somebody directly behind you, particularly at night. The turn signal bulbs are monitored. Our cars are more sophisticated about this and look for the correct rated curre...

Re: I'm at a Swedish-themed coffeehouse

Oh and by the way in Sweden it's called a "fik", the noun of the verb "fika". Though the more international café is more and more taking over.
