Re: buy control arms or press bushings?

Replacing the bushings without a press is going to be a nightmare. Id touch base with the shop you want to just replace the bushings beforehand.

Re: buy control arms or press bushings?

What Matt's talking about applies to the bushes on the rear end which work different in the way they're mounted/rotate in the control arms/subframe. On the front P2 LCAs the bushing ride height is preset when you press the bushes into the LCA with a 10 ton press (off the car). Many other OEs (and ol...

Re: buy control arms or press bushings?

Important: after pressing bushings in, during control arm installation, remember to align (push up with a jack, typically for us DIYers) the control arm before you tighten things down. This puts the arm at "ride height". Without doing that, you're fixing the position of the bushings at ma...

Quieter for sure, but smaller. Well it turns out the interior space on a 850 sedan is larger than a Mazda3 wagon. ...

Re: Pennzoil Platinum Synthetic Rebate.

I take advantage of this every year along with the Mobil 1 rebates. I should add the Pennzoil rebates come in a lot quicker than the Mobil 1 although they always come in.

At about 134k I rebuilt the tranny my self as it was starting to make noise over 65mph. Upon tear down I saw excessive clutch wear and steel burns. The car spent 2 yea...

Re: slow passenger front window

Not the mechanisms, it's the rubber trim at the bottom of the glass that is worn (causes lot of friction) or even broken and a piece got trapped between the glass.

Most often time it's the trim on the inside.

Re: Best Grade of Gasoline

Some have reported that mid-grade (89,90) works well in their vehicle and probably so, but the ethanol loves our rubber hoses and seals. Let me amend my comment a bit. The statement regarding the ethanol should have been below the statement about mid-grade fuel and not separated but the ", but...
