Re: Shifter button issue
3D printed button was a success. Note it is mandatory to file away the 1-2mm as noted in the comments of that drawing. Shifting feels brand new.

Long time lurker here. For reference my car is a 2004 V70 2.4i FWD with STC. 3 years of ongoing "Brake Failure Stop Safely" no traction control, no cruise control, stuck odometer. After sifting through a lot of posts regarding the bcm in p2 cars, I wanted to clarify for those seeking answe...

Re: FS: 1960 IH pickup and 1964 Rambler wagon
My opinion on the old cars: Offer them as is. Let a buyer decide how to start or move them. A knowledgeable buyer will have their own ideas of the best practice. This will be less effort on your part and less explaining of what you did and didn't do to the cars. There will also be fewer questions ab...

Re: Engine Shaking & low power - 2000 s70 FWD Base Model
Think about your use case a bit, and your goals. Getting 5 years/ 50,000 Canadian miles out of this ride is the one that would fit the best. If compression is bad, stop there and “ off with her head” rework the top.,,,graphic courtesy of foggy dog These cars, basically, don’t rust. I’ve got 4 of the...

Re: Fuel system problem on a 96 850 R
Fuel pump relay on these cars isn't just a normal relay. It have some chips, capacitors and electronics inside. When it starts to misbehave it is doing just that you described. Sensitive electronics inside is sensitive to high temperatures. When it cooled down it behaved normally. Only new or used Vol...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
I was supposed to go to a car meeting in Falkirk tonight but just before turning onto the motorway where I stay I noticed the traffic was at a standstill and backed up so a change of plan, I went in the opposite direction and went for a drive where I managed to get a few evening pics as the sun was ...

Re: New Key Fob for 2000 V70R—part discontinued?
The late model P80 cars (99+) don't need a barcode for programming. They will need an active VIDA subscription ($70 for three days) and a software download ($70) to pair a new remote. Even through the remote is no longer available from Volvo, I got this one off of eBay a while back. It says DENSO on...
